Happy Friday!
Last week I shared a short meditation on art and love and I was really surprised by the response to my meandering thoughts. Thank you to those who sent me notes in reply, which were so filled with kindness and vulnerability. A continuing goal of this newsletter, in addition to the practical stuff, is to create opportunities for interpersonal connection like these. Thank you for being part of this community of 800+ subscribers! Read on for scenes from some recent art social events as well as all kinds of timely and useful resources. - Michael
Another Successful Drinks with Artists
Thank you to everyone who attended the latest installment of my monthly Drinks with Artists gathering. The team at Small Format did an amazing job hosting and it was such a fun evening. New friends were made, great drinks were had, and we continue to build community among younger artists. Stay tuned for my March meetup!
Society Page: Scenes from an Art Opening
If you look closely at this shot of the recent opening at East Manning Projects in Providence, you’ll find the great artist and designer Dara Benno and I enjoying the party (hint: silver coat). The reception celebrated a new show, The Hot Toddy, and also featured some wonderful musical performances. These images from the event are by photographer and exhibitor Jeff Smudde. Thanks Jeff, and East Manning Projects!
