Editor’s Note: Millenial/GenZ Drinks Plus a Special Show in Warwick
First up, Wednesday Jan. 22 I’m hosting a very casual drinks meetup for Millenial/Gen Z art people in Providence. I’ll be having drinks at Kimi’s on the West Side from 7ish - 9ish on Jan. 22 and I hope you’ll drop by too. I know it can feel challenging to find connections as a younger person on the art scene, and these casual gatherings are meant to help with that. Contact me with questions.
I’m also delighted to be partnering with the Warwick Center for the Arts on assembling a show focused on emerging and early-career artists in the state. New Voices: The Next Generation of Rhode Island Artists, will be on view Jan. 22 - Feb. 15, with a potluck (and BYOB!) reception on Feb. 6 from 6-8pm. Free and open to the public. All are welcome! I hope you’ll mark your calendar and join me in Warwick to meet artists, gather, and build community. - Michael Rose
Final Days of EXPAND: Hillerbrand+Magsamen+Lynn
I am grateful to Providence College Gallery Director Carol Stakenas for a personal tour of the school’s current exhibition EXPAND: Hillerbrand+Magsamen+Lynn, which concludes January 18. Interactive, engaging, and maximalist, the show was very enjoyable to walk through. If you’re in Providence, check it out before it comes down.
