Hello and Happy New Year!
I wish you a great start to your 2025. In this week’s New England Art News I have a lot of upcoming opportunities including funding, jobs, professional development, events, and more. I hope you find something useful for yourself or a friend.
Editor’s Note: What’s Your New Year’s Resolution?
What do you want for 2025? To make a new body of work? To exhibit in a venue you admire? To see more exhibitions? To meet artists in your community? The start of a new year isn’t a bad time to sketch out some general goals. It’s also a good time for all of us to set a goal of supporting one another in whatever ways we can. I hope you might consider adding connection and community to your list of resolves for 2025. - Michael Rose

There’s no entry fee and the form is just 8 short questions. All are welcome to share their info for consideration.
A Must-See Show Opens Thursday in Providence
I wanted to include a special plug in this week’s newsletter for The Steel Yard’s Winter Residency Show, Grit and Polish, which opens Thursday, January 9 from 6-8pm at The WaterFire Arts Center in Providence. It continues through February 9 with an artist panel on Jan. 16.
Featuring artworks Traé Brooks, Brittany Dias, Katie Han, Nyala Honda, Dana Heng, Anne Irving, Prinshu Gautam, Kit Grindeland, and Alex Tum, this show highlights remarkable work being made by artists affiliated with the city’s unique industrial arts space. Objects in metal, ceramic, fiber, mixed-media, and more will be on view. Please go out and support these artists!
