New England Art News May 30
Some major museum jobs. Fuller Craft gets $7mil. Two artist residencies. Calls for art with cash prizes. A profile of a printmaker and an exhibition preview. Plus, an artist meetup next Thursday!
Happy Friday!
I hope you had a great long weekend. In personal news, one of my tiny (4” x 4”!) paintings was juried into a virtual exhibition hosted by Rhode Island Watercolor Society and it received the Second Place Award. Thank you to juror Bill Lane for this kind recognition. Also, yesterday was the final installment of my Art Appreciation class at RISD. It was enriching to teach this course. My students were thoughtful and engaged, and the artists we visited were so generous and collegial. I’m hoping to teach again soon, perhaps some affordable online professional practices workshops. What do you think? - Michael
