New England Art News October 25
30+ opportunities, calls, exhibitions, and events. Plus an artist profile!
Thanks again to all who have subscribed and shared New England Art News so far. A couple readers have told me that they got accepted into exhibitions they saw in this newsletter, which is awesome. If you’re finding value in what you’re reading, please consider sharing it with friends to help me grow this publication and community.
In this week’s issue, find a collection of calls for artists, art events, a profile of a Providence potter, a special focus on Massachusetts, as well as a couple of personal invitations from me to you, among other things. Each week you’ll notice the format change slightly as opportunities shift and new things come up.

Artist to Watch: Potter Matty Wildenberg
I profiled Providence-based clay artist Matty Wildenberg this week for GoLocalProv. A member of Anyhow Studio, Matty makes useful ceramics in a distinctive style. His story makes me want to take up working in clay.
Please consider sharing the article from GoLocalProv’s page to pass this story along. It’s a great (and free) way to promote arts journalism and spread artists’ stories.
Two Shameless Plugs
I have two upcoming events that I’d like to invite you to attend. It would be wonderful to see some of my Substack readers at either of these programs.
On Friday, November 1 from 6-8pm, I will be a featured guest at Gallery 263’s Speed Networking Night in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Tickets are $20 and funds raised support an important arts space. Meet fellow creatives too!
On Saturday, November 2 at 5pm, I will be giving a free talk on Art Appreciation at Four Corners Gallery in Tiverton, Rhode Island. This program is open to all and questions from attendees are very welcome.
